Jamie   Jamie Allen - Cypress Orchestra
Serving as the conductor of CTYO's most experienced orchestra, Cypress, Jamie holds the position as Director of Education for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He is an accomplished pianist and harpist, as well as an award-winning composer. After 4 years of experience conducting and composing in Los Angeles for a wide range of film and video projects, Jamie was the founding director of the Santa Fe New Music Youth Ensemble and Young Composers Project. In addition to serving four years as the conductor of family concerts for 20th Century Unlimited, Jamie has ten years experience as a music teacher at the elementary school level and ten years experience teaching music in various higher education settings. Jamie holds degrees from the University of Chicago (where he studied composition with Ralph Shapey, orchestration with Shulamit Ran, and conducting with Barbara Schubert), the University of Texas at Austin (where he studied orchestration with Donald Grantham, and composition & conducting with Eugene Kurtz), and holds an artist certificate from the Sorbonne in Paris. After serving five years as artist-in-residence with the Santa Fe Opera, Jamie relocated to the North Texas area where he spent 2 years directing chamber operas and educational performances for The Dallas Opera (including a performance of his own work, The Dragon Awakes). He lives in McKinney with his wife Toni (who maintains a private piano studio) and their children.

Donna   Donna Davis - Live Oak Orchestra
Donna Davis, an experienced teacher and conductor, leads the CTYO Live Oak Middle School orchestra. Donna began her musical journey as a cellist at Carnegie-Mellon University and later received a degree in cello performance from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford. She began conducting soon after, leading Young Artist's Philharmonic String Ensemble in Stamford, Connecticut, the Erie Youth Orchestra in Erie, Pennsylvania, the Greenwich Summer Music and Art Program in Greenwich, Connecticut, and the Anchorage Festival of Music in Anchorage, Alaska. Following a move to Texas, Donna founded the Junior String Ensemble for the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio. Donna is a student of the Suzuki Method and has established Suzuki cello programs at the Bethwood Suzuki School and the Merit Music Studios in Connecticut. Due to her expertise, she is a sought after workshop clinician for Suzuki summer programs around the country. Currently, she teaches cello and chamber music at the Suzuki Institute of Dallas. Donna lives in Plano with her cello playing husband and son.

Donna   Angie Cimbalo - Magnolia Orchestra
Angie Cimbalo is the lead instructor for the Magnolia Orchestra. She is the director of orchestras at Ereckson Middle School in the Allen Independent School District, where she conducts the Chamber, Sinfonia and Concert Orchestras, various elementary classes and an additional after-school Pops Full Orchestra. She has enjoyed many years of teaching both band and orchestra students and has taught in Odessa, the Austin area, Abilene, Amarillo and Richardson. Her groups have consistently earned honors from the Texas Music Educator's Association by placing in the top six orchestras in the state, both at the high school and middle school level. Angie's primary instruments are cello, trombone and piano, and she has performed with various symphony orchestras and chamber groups throughout the state. She also clinics, guest conducts, adjudicates UIL contests, music festivals and competitions throughout Texas. Ange lives in Garland with her husband Phil, a cellist and daughter Kelsey, a senior clarinetist at Berkner High School in Richardson. IN addition, she has two married children, two granddaughters and a daughter who is currently a sophomore at Texas A&M University. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, crafting and decorating.

No Picture   Sabine Madriguera - Guitar Orchestra
Sabine Madriguera hails from Berlin, Germany. Sabine has a degree from the Hochschule fuer Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. In 1991 Sabine and Soprano Bettina Eisemann were awarded the first and special prize in the Duo Competition held at Soumagne, Belgium. Sabine has been active as a performer and clinician in Europe and the Americas. She is Director of Guitar Studies at Collin County Community College. Her student ensembles were awarded first places in the competition at the UT Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Festival and Competition in 2004 and 2005. Sabine Madriguera is also a member of the Advisory Board to the Allegro Guitar Society. Sabine is the director of the Guitar Orchestra for CTYO since its initiation in the August of 2005. The City of Dallas, Office of Cultural Affairs has awarded Sabine as well as her duo partner and husband, Enric, several grants to underwrite performances and arts projects in Dallas. In 2003 the duo released their first CD on the Plano based - Encore label.

Donna   Allison Lang - Drum Orchestra Instructor
DRUM ORCHESTRA is lead by Allie Lang, an Elementary Music Specialist at Slaughter Elementary School in McKinney, Texas. Allie grew up in Duncanville and began to learn to play percussion the summer before 6th grade. She continued her involvement in both Band and Choir throughout Junior High and High School. She graduated from Duncanville High School and received a scholarship to attend Stephen F. Austin State University, where she majored in Instrumental Music and graduated with a degree in Music and a Certification in Piano Pedagogy. She has been a dedicated teacher even before receiving her teacher certification. She taught music for the charter elementary school on the SFA campus, and also for the Music Preparatory on Campus. She played piano for 3 different churches during her years there, taught children's choir, and led Drum Line camps for area high schools. She was also the Worship leader for the Wesley Foundation Student Center on campus, and held that position until graduation. Currently she plays percussion as needed with smaller orchestras, plays percussion for her church, and teaches private percussion and piano lessons as well as private theory.

Deb   Deborah Perkins - CTYO Elementary Strings Emeritus Director
The founding facilitator of the Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra's Elementary Strings outreach program, Deborah Perkins, Ph.D., has three decades of experience in string education. Dr. Perkins' own education began at the Crane School of Music at State University College in Potsdam, New York where she received a bachelor of music. Her studies continued with a master's degree from the University of South Carolina and a Ph. D. from the University of North Texas. Throughout her career, Deborah has demonstrated a gift for teaching and has constructed successful public school orchestra programs in Florida and South Carolina. She later transitioned to the university level, teaching string methods at UNT, Florida Atlantic University and becoming the first master teacher for the University of South Carolina String Project. Deborah teaches string methods and string pedagogy at Southern Methodist University but also guest conducts numerous honor orchestras, adjudicates festivals and presents clinics locally and throughout the United States. During the summers, Dr. Perkins often travels with youth orchestras to Mexico, Europe and China.

Danny   Danny Moore - Programs Coordinator
Danny serves as the Programs Coordinator of CTYO Elementary Strings offerings and the CTYO Studio Program. Danny performs as a cellist with the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra and serves as Worship Minister for Crossroad Christian Church of McKinney. A student of Lee Fiser, Danny is a graudate of the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati. He has taught classes and been involved with CTYO’s elementary outreach programs and has worked with the CTYO orchestras and summer camps. He resides in McKinney and teaches private students through a studio in his home, and he also teaches private lessons for the McKinney ISD orchestra program.
