Allison Lang - Drum Orchestra Instructor DRUM ORCHESTRA is lead by Allie Lang, an Elementary Music Specialist at Slaughter Elementary School in McKinney, Texas. Allie grew up in Duncanville and began to learn to play percussion the summer before 6th grade. She continued her involvement in both Band and Choir throughout Junior High and High School. She graduated from Duncanville High School and received a scholarship to attend Stephen F. Austin State University, where she majored in Instrumental Music and graduated with a degree in Music and a Certification in Piano Pedagogy. She has been a dedicated teacher even before receiving her teacher certification. She taught music for the charter elementary school on the SFA campus, and also for the Music Preparatory on Campus. She played piano for 3 different churches during her years there, taught children's choir, and led Drum Line camps for area high schools. She was also the Worship leader for the Wesley Foundation Student Center on campus, and held that position until graduation. Currently she plays percussion as needed with smaller orchestras, plays percussion for her church, and teaches private percussion and piano lessons as well as private theory.
