The Guitar Orchestra rehearses weekly on Monday evenings from 6:00-7:15pm. Rehearsals will be held at the Spring Creek campus of Collin County Community College in Plano, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Room C104.

As the first of its kind in North Texas, the CTYO Guitar Orchestra is designed to promote the development of ensemble skills involving the full range of instruments in the guitar family. The CTYO Guitar Orchestra is open to students ages 8 - 18 who demonstrate a strong interest in playing in a large guitar ensemble. Basic music reading and guitar skills are required in order to participate. The orchestra performs a wide range of repertoire, from music of the Renaissance and Classical periods to Folk and Contemporary styles. Auditions are required for placement and held by appointment. With a mission of enriching lives through music for young people and their families, and serving communities throughout the North Texas area, CTYO is neither an alternative to nor a substitute for school music programs. CTYO expects that student participants will be enrolled in the appropriate and applicable music and arts programs in their schools. Also, students participating in CTYO orchestras are expected to study with a private teacher on their instrument.
