The Magnolia Orchestra is a string ensemble normally appropriate for students with 1-3 years of experience who demonstrate a beginning level of technical and musical proficiencies. This ensemble has 30-50 student members, though the size may vary, and plays a wide range of repertoire, from music of the Baroque and Classical periods to Folk and Contemporary styles. Auditions are required for placement and held by appointment. Please see the application for details.
With a mission of enriching lives through music for young people and their families, and serving communities throughout the North Texas area, CTYO is neither an alternative to nor a substitute for school music programs. CTYO expects that student participants will be enrolled in the appropriate and applicable music and arts programs in their schools. Also, students participating in CTYO orchestras are expected to study with a private teacher on their instrument.
